One of my leisure activities is to run a home lab with different virtual machines and linux containers to provide house automation, network management and personal cloud services. Maintaining these applications often requires to remember what I did during the installation and initial configuration. As you can imagine, this is not always an easy job, as most of the times, I did not correctly document the initial process.

So I decided to document these installation processes, which often require a lot of googling and trial-and-error strategies to get things working. As I think that the issues in which I ran, often are the same for other people, I decided to not keep these instruction manuals on my hard drive, but to make them available online for other geeks that want to achieve the same goals and might run into the same or similar issues. It’s my part of giving back to the community some know-how I developed when problem-solving my installations.
